The GSM Mobile Phone Tracker Service Has Many Uses Including Personal And Vehicle Security.

This article outlines two innovative new services from World Tracker.com employing tracking devices.

The GSM Mobile Phone Tracker from World Tracker provides a tracking service, which costs from as little as 16p per location.

The GSM mobile phone tracker service has multiple uses including personal and vehicle security e.g.

  • Keeping track of your young children’s movements when they are away from home.
  • Protection of lone workers who spend long periods out of the office every day.
  • An employee of an Estate Agency will feel more secure in the knowledge that a colleague is able to track their movements, whilst they are out of the office.
  • A courier company needing to find one of their drivers, to make an additional collection within their immediate locality.
  • ‘Points of Interest’ is another feature which when carrying your phone, will provide you with the location of a nearby restaurant, bar, club, hotel etc.
  • The ‘Geofence’ facility allows you to set a perimeter around a fixed location and should the tracked phone go outside that perimeter, you are sent an alert.

What Equipment Do I Need?

Apart from a GSM cellular phone, or a computer with access to the Internet, you require no other hardware or software to use the service.

You just type in the mobile number you want to track on the World Tracker website and you will be able to zoom in on the device’s location, via the Google Maps-based interface with accuracy to within 50m to 500m; or the exact GPS location as a measurement in longitude and latitude.

The accuracy will vary according to the telephone service provider you use, however, on average it will be accurate to 150m.

The system is compatible with any GSM cellular phone working on the four main UK Network providers – O2, Vodafone, Orange and T-Mobile.

‘Points of Interest’ and ‘Geofence’ can be added at no additional cost.

How Does It Work? World Tracker uses cell tower data (or GPS, when available) to track the location of most GSM cellular phones.

The WorldTracker SMS Service is the first real-time GPS tracker to use Google Earth.

How Does It Work?

The GPS tracker integrates a high performance micro-sized GPS receiver with a GSM cellular transmitter together, to provide an emergency solution with innovative location finding technology.

The web site of ‘Tracking the World’ uses cutting edge mapping from Google, which combines high resolution satellite imagery, 3D maps and Google search, to display the position of the device anywhere in the world. The aerial picture is clear to 1,000 feet.

The WorldTracker SMS is designed to send short message service (SMS) messages to as many as seven cell phone numbers or e-mail addresses, as programmed by individual users.

The unit measures 2.56 by 1.7 by 1.1 inches and weighs 3.1 ounces, which makes it small enough to carry, put on a belt or in a handbag, or you could place it on the seat of a vehicle. Whether the unit is inside or outside, it uses assisted GPS and an internal antenna to lock onto signals.

The device is always live and uses a rechargeable lithium ion battery that provides 24 hours of power. Optional battery packs can increase charge life to 15 days and the unit can also be either wired or plugged into a 12volt direct current power.

Features:-

  • The GPS tracker is programmable via SMS signals sent by GSM cellular phone or e-mail and users can schedule regular location reports for any period from 2 to 120 minutes.
  • Current location data and location history is viewed via the www.world-tracker.com website.
  • Location information can be reported to your GSM cellular phone using SMS messages, without the use of a computer or web site.
  • Featuring SiRF star III technology for extra sensitive reception outdoors, indoors and through metal.
  • The WASS enabled receiver can give you a position accuracy to within three meters 95 percent of the time.
  • A self-contained device, which fits in the palm of your hand, has no need for antennae and it is plug and play.
  • Able to map the whole world using 3D maps from Google.
  • The ‘Geofence’ feature sends an alert if the target moves from a pre-defined area.
  • Also has an emergency button facility, which the carrier can use to alert others in the event of illness, kidnapping, or mugging.
  • The ‘Parking and anti-theft function’ is started by pressing the parking button. If your vehicle is moved beyond 100 meteres World Tracker will send messages to your preset phone numbers, warning you that the vehicle is being moved.

The WorldTracker Pro – Global Positioning Satellite System is also available and is designed specifically for covert use.

The device is completely self contained and portable, enabling the user to quickly change the target vehicle as necessary.

The battery will provide up to 72 hours of continuous tracking without a recharge.
