SSAIB…Provides Approval and Inspection For the Security Industry.

SSAIB the Security Systems and Alarms Inspection Board

was founded in 1994 and is authorised by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS), in conformity with EN 45011 for product certification and EN 45012 for quality management systems certification.

It is a non-profit making organisation, managed by an independent board whose members represent various groups with an interest in the security industry.

The main purpose of the Board is to encourage high standards of service and conduct of operations in the security business, with a view to protecting consumers and users of security systems and services.

The Board Publishes a Roll of recognised companies that meet its quality standards.

The basis for acceptance is by inspection of approved firms at least once every year, to ensure that products or services supplied, conform to the Board’s rules and all relevant British and European standards.

Registered Company Search Provision for Consumers SSAIB provides a Roll of Approved Companies on their web- site, which you can search by:-

  • Company name will tell you if a specified installer is recognised by the SSAIB.
  • County which will return all registered companies who trade in that County.
  • PostCode search to find enrolled installers who have offices in the search area. This will not show National Companies who trade in that area.
  • A list of registered Alarm Monitoring Centres is also provided on their site.
